Introducing Rose!

AI-Powered BIM Data Classification

tl;dr: Today we’re launching Rose, our AI-powered BIM data Revit plugin! Download it here.

A rose by any other name 🌹

With BIM data management today, at some point someone needs to actively make a choice about how to classify model elements, even in the most automated workflows.

With Rose, we’re one step closer to truly automated BIM data management by classifying and naming your model elements for you with a one-click solution that leverages multimodal AI.

Here’s a quick use case. Below is a Revit plumbing fixture, counting the occurrence of each fixture based on its family name.

You can see there’s a variety of sinks, a couple of toilets, and some other fixture types. But wouldn’t it be great if we had a way to treat those sinks or toilets as part of the same group?

Here’s where Rose shines (or blossoms, as it were). Below, you can see how Rose has created a custom parameter for one of the toilets from the fixture schedule.

Call me by your normalized name

And using that new custom parameter, we can now create a schedule that groups elements by these meaningful categories.

You can watch the whole flow below.

What else can Rose help me achieve? 💪

So glad you asked. Here’s just a taste of what’s possible once you’ve normalized your BIM data with Rose:

  • Accurate and easy quantity and material takeoff

  • Improved schedules and reporting

  • Easily accessible BIM data content, organized by normalized name

  • Model visualizations segmented by classification

What elements can it name? 🏷️

Today, we support some of the most common elements, with more on the way! The current list includes:

  • Stairs and stair handrails

  • Ramps

  • Parking stalls

  • Drinking fountains

  • Toilets

  • Urinals

  • Mirrors

  • Bathroom grab bars

Why is it called “Rose”? 🤔

Max and I 💜 🌹🌸🌺🌼. And we couldn’t resist the wordplay “a rose by any other name” for a name normalization product (we hear your groans — know that we are deeply sorry).

To fully realize data-driven design and construction, it's crucial to have accurately classified BIM data. Rose identifies and names your model’s elements, helping you overcome a major barrier to achieving better coordination and automated workflows.

We’re offering a two-week trial, so try Rose today!
